Topic: Whats it worth- CB350 needing work

I am looking at a CB350 as a project bike for my son and I. The bike is needs a head gasket- leaks oil but turns. 1970 vintage. comes with a spare tank, pipes, head, offroad tire and other bits. I plan on seeing of all the lights and such work. It has a clean title in the owner's name

It has been for sale for awhile at 700$, thinking of making an offer- what do y'all think I should start with?

It looks like a CL with funny bars. For $700 I would want to ride it home. Non-running maybe $250 if the pipes aren't rotten.




edit: the 350G in my sig was a freebie.

While I agree with mark, running CB350 twins have been going for 1500 to 2500 here in Portland...
I know, crazy.

Yeah, It seems a little high to me, also. But Mark's right. Prices here have gotten totally out of hand!

I'm very curious to see what happens @ the end of the summer. Traditionally prices drop about 15-20% in early October....

Unless you have your heart set on it, offer the guy $500 and see what happens.

I have noticed what they are going for on feebay. I have thought about grabbing one near a relative and getting it shipped.

I will make an offer, but my heart isnt set on it... Like I said I am not the only one who thinks 700 a little much- its been for sale for a few weeks.

I have decided to make an offer based on what I have for free cash. I am in "game" mode and will show up with the cash and a trailer- offer him that amount and walk if he wont budge. I figure my kid wont be ready to ride for a few years yet and I can always wait for a better deal.

Unlike the 750 where I came with the asking price in cash... It was so pretty under all that plastic

i paid $300 dollars for my CL350 in Feb.

It fired on starting fluid sprayed into the carb.  it ran like #$%*, but it proved marginally that something was working.


I would offer him $500.00


my rule of thumb is a decent running bike is worth about 1k or so, not running is sub $500.

I decided not to buy the bike because the guy was set 0n 700... too much.

I did however find a cb125s project for 50$ that starts!

Don't be fooled by such a low buying price. The cost of restoring a bike is almost the same regardless of the bike displacement, but there is a big difference in the final product. Get a bike you will likely enjoy to ride when is done.

I already have the bike for me- a cb750. This is a bike to work on and eventually give to my son when he is old enough. I think a 125 would be great for that. I look silly on small bikes- proof?

Hey you guys don't know when you've got it good! Over this side of the pond that CL lookalike would be nearer the equivalent of $2400 and we're paying around $9 a gallon of gas. Enjoy it while you got it !!

And is I took what I paid in health insurance and divided it by the number of miles I drive....
