Cleaning Rusty Exhaust Flanges and other small parts.

How to clean your small rusty parts: (The ones for the bike I mean)
Get a small plastic 1 gallon sheetrock bucket.  Take the parts you want to clean and twist thick gauge bare copper wire
around a stack of exhaust flanges.  Tighten the stack together as much as possible. Leave a long tail of wire extending from the stack of parts to be cleaned. Take your manual battery charger (I use an old 6 volt charger) and clip the positive charger clip to the top side of the bucket using a spring loaded woodworking clamp. Make sure that the positive battery charger clip stays above any water you put in the buck!!!!  Drop your parts into the bucket with the heavy copper wire extending out of the bucket.  Fill the bucket with warm water and dump in a bunch of table salt. Clip the negative battery charger clip to the copper wire attached to the parts. Attach several large cement form nails to the positive charger terminal. These nails should extend into the water with the positive charge clip still out of the water.  This whole mess will bubble happily away cleaning your rust off of your parts for you. You'll find the water will get pretty dirty so you might want to change the water several times.  Do not breath the gas that results from doing this it is pretty bad for your lungs. Once your parts are cleaned be sure to rinse them well so they do not rust again.
