Wiring issue
« on: September 13, 2008, 01:23:47 PM »
I've been working on wiring a basket case bike, CB750 K3. Problem is, when I hit the ignition switch, connecting black to black/white, I blow the main fuse. I can sit with the combination switch on without blowing the main. The bike has the Dyna S ignition, so I've followed the manual and connected the coil to the ignition (blue to blue, yellow to yellow... then connected blk/wht to blk/wht also splicing in the red wire from the ignition. I think this is good, but I still blow the main fuse.
Does it sound like I've got the electronic ignition wired up correct and if so, what could be causing this blown main fuse?
Thanks

Black & white plus black wires creates the "kill" switch on my bike.
Add the red to that and you create a direct short I think!
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Sorry misread your post, you seem to have the wires right.
Careful if you are using the CLYMER manual as they have an error on their wiring diagrams where Br/W equals Brown/Black?
This is incorrect and it should read Brown/White!
