CB 750 Carbs ??????

Got my bike running today! (woo hoo) but It's got some issues in that Carbs. Any Ideas or tips on what to do next? I've fidddled with the air mix screws and idler But I have not hit the sweet spot yet. Any ideas what to try next????? By the way It idles great! but if you crack the throttle open in gear it sputters a lot.

I didn't "re build" them but I did re-jet and take apart to clean! it's on a 1970 cb750

Adjusting the idle circuit screws and the low throttle stop will do NOTHING to help a set of dirty carbs run better.  Remove the entire rack, clean them like it is your last day on earth, reinstall them, and then set the screws and stop.  Use the search function for endless good advice on carbs.  If you are going to ride a motorcycle with 4 carbureters, you will be an expert when it is all said and done.

ok im not trying to steal the post but I just got done soaking my carbs in an off the shelf bucket of cleaner and they seem to have a film on them still. What exactly should I be soaking them in to get it good and clean. A friend said the carb bodies might be too old and shot. Can this happen?

Void,
You have to watch soaking them in the Berryman's carb cleaner(maybe others as well).  I left some 550 carbs in for a while(couple hours) and it basically ate into them to the point where they look bad.  I don't think their function will be affected, but I'll be keeping it in mind if anything is weird when I put them on. 

So yours might not be shot, just gonna look bad.  That film should wash off it's the same thing that happened to mine.  I was thinking of doing a blacked out bike and painting mine black to match.

Try Simple Green. Just plain Simple Green. Best Carb cleaner there is.
