Aftermarket petcock for late SOHC 750?
« on: September 14, 2005, 01:59:45 PM »
Hello-  Just wondering if anyone out there has had any sources for or success at  fitting an aftermarket  petcock to the 77/78 750 tanks.  These have what I belive to be a 16mm bung on them.   There is an ample supply of harley products but they would most certainly require an adapter (which I have not seen) and I am doubtful as to whether the intake tube / filter assembly would be small enough to fit into the existing hole in the tank.  Any thoughts?

I ahd a Pingel valve on my 750F years ago but the adaptor Pingel said would work never fit very well. I currently use a dual outlet Pingel on my FJ and it is great BUT it uses an adaptor plate. I guess you could use the remote Pingel fuel valve and fit a bung to the tank outlet. This would flow alot of fuel and give you the ability to the shut flow off. Of course you'd have to mount the remote valve somehere.

call pingel. they make petcocks for all bikes but most shops will only stock the harley ones. You can still get the stock one from honda but it will cost you 90 bucks. A pingel might be less than that.
