Starter Button

I'm new here and also a new 73 CB 750 owner so any help would be appreciated.
My starter button does not work, however I am able to kick start the bike.
Any suggestions on rebuilding the entire control or just replacing the  switch?

Well...that depends...

You need to do a little trouble shooting here and get back to us and someone will guide you in the right direction.

Maybe I am assuming incorrectly here but you have not said that you have proven the switch defective...could be something as simple as bad connections etc.

I would hold off on buying new controls and see where the problem lies.

First things first check for continuity, resistance etc from the swith down to the starter and then go from there...

to avoid the cost of a new handlebar control pod for the sake of one switch:

troubleshoot the switch and repair if possible.

I had a pod that had a broken switch. I re-routed the wires for the starter switch, so that they connected to an automotive push button switch, which I mounted on the center console (alternative ignition placement attcahment) right in front of my idiot lights on the handlebars.

The '73 750 also had a neutral safety system, so if that's faulty it might not be your starter button at all....

Take the switch assembly apart, make sure all the pieces are there according to the parts catalog, clean everything off, replace broken pieces, put it back together and usually it ends up being very simple. If it doesn't work after that, then you need a meter, etc. etc.

That is the caveman approach to everything.
