Took my turn signals off to mount saddlebags, rode 200+ miles with no problem, but now bike (73 750 K3) is not charging whether even with the headlight off (11.73 volts) Could me removing my rear signals be the cause of this? All I did was clip them and leave them, do they need to be a completed circuit or something? Thanks.

The bare ends of the wires might be shorting to the frame.  It would have been better to find the disconnect plugs rather than cutting them.
