Nice to hear another fabricator admit the grinder-shirt-face thing. I'm not the only one. ;D

Yea, ya can't make that stuff up! Hurts too!  ;D

Got a buddy in Fort Smith (about 15miles away) who has an 80' and it is Black AND Mighty Good Looking! After he got it, he went completely though it and detailed it! 8) ;) Beautiful bike!

Used these photos of one that was on ebay, as a pattern, when he was detailing his out. His is nearly identical except his polished covers aren't finned.

Those aren't pods. That's a K&N setup. 1 air filter for every 2 carbs. I have the same setup. Re-jetting is a must with those filters. Kinda lean if you don't. Mine runs great.

Bought a new CBX in '79.  Kept it until 3 years ago.  Still regret selling it.  Nothing sounds like one when the revs are up.  Reminds you of an older Formula 1 car.  It felt lighter and more balanced than my 750, yet weighed about 100 pounds more.  Suspension was not that great, but the sound and feel when running through the gears was worth any shortcomings that it had.

I thought Honda made a CBX with 6 exhaust pipes, like the inline fours, but I cannot find it on the net.

Has anyone any photos/memory of a six pipe CBX?

I don't think so; There is/was an aftermarket system and then there's the CBX impersonator the Benelli 750 Sei. I think that had the six pipes and was based on the Honda. Or, at least their four was loosely based on 'our' four.

I believe the 750 Sei came before the CBX, though I could be wrong.

No, I think you're right. My bad... but they were inspired by the Honda four I think. That Italian is some bike... won't pass your self on the road with that one!

edit: Looking at the Sei engine in my picture above, it looks a lot like a SOHC. Just tack on two more thank you very much!

Modded Mac headers, shortened, new collectors, 3 into 2 custom undertail exhaust, 07 GSXR bolt on cans from Two Brothers. Here's what she sounds like:

BTW, I get her rolling around the 1 min mark.

Nice treasure trove of parts there! Any ideas where you're going to take that project? Stock? Custom?

No idea.....I have a K2 to put back together, the all aluminium Frankenbike to finish, a vintage snapper mower to rebuild, the dyno to set up, and a host of other stuff to finish.

But its like buying a lotto ticket...its fun to dream.  ;)

I looked for the six pipe cbx once too. I found it was very rare like TWO and was a South African option or Maybe Australia? Ive seen pics of it but no idea where. I cant even be sure that what I saw was Honda or hand crafted but it looked awesome.

Whoa!! :o Now talk about an Organ!!!!!!!  I'll bet that it makes Beautiful music!!!! 8)

I used t think I'd want one of those Six into one exhaust systems, if I had a CBX, until I talked to my buddy and found that the CBX seems to run better with the Six into Two, better than Six into one! I would think that the six into one would run a bit better even yet, if it is tuned, and I'm sure it is.

My buddy has a knack for finding neat Honda's.  Here's a CBX next to a daily driven K6 (which I think has about 60k on it!)  I should look for a pic of his RC built K2.
