air cleaner box seal between top and bottom gone.

Air filter box, where the box connects to the separator on both sides has no seal.  I took it apart to get to element, and found globs and globs of black silicone that looks like PO used to seal it up.

Taking it apart, a lot of the sealant came off, and I'm not sure if there is a factory rubber seal or not in the mess of goo.

Is there a factory seal that can be replaced?  Or should I just glob it up with silicone every time I get to the air filter element?

I got some black silicone and made a new seal and shaped it to match the remainder of the factory seal.  I'm letting it set before installing the two halves together.  done.
