Help Me Please!!
« on: June 25, 2010, 09:33:32 PM »
So I am trying to start 78 cb750f for the first time in 4 years and I change the fluids, change the plugs, and connect the battery........and nothing.  No headlight, and no turn signals.  I change the ignition switch because it was cracked and we figured that was the problem, and now we have turn signals, but no headlight, and not turning over.  We also checked the starter solenoid(spelling??)  and that was not it.  We checked the current to the fuses and all of the wire harnesses and that doesn't seem to be the problem.

Any advice???

Have you tried the kickstarter yet to see if you are getting any spark on the plugs ??

Change the fuses anyway. Battery Im asuming is new and charged?  Kill switch On? Ignition turned to far to park position? Is the bike stock as far as you know?

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Good luck!

The starter switch gone bad is a common problem.  The headlight will be out and the starter will not work using the switch but it will start using the kick start.  Try that.  If you open up the right side controls you can get a peek at the switch.  If the plastic housing of the starter switch is cracked or in pieces it is toast.

I haven't tried to kick start it yet.  I will try it today.  I'll also check the starter switch.

I will give some updates as soon as I get them.  Thanks a lot!!!!
