Does look like a Tracy body but I'm no expert. I have wondered about those slush box transmissions. It would appear they can withstand drag racing; anybody know something about them?

I mean, other than being the antithesis of what motorcycles are all about that is.

After owning and riding a few Hondamatics I can honestly say It never occured to me to use one as a drag bike.  You just don't get off one and say "wow! I should take this to the track and really show them what a bike can do"  I will shamelessly steal ideas such as the black engine with chrome accents, and move on.

Bracket racing is all about consistent runs, not top speed. You can win in a yugo if you are consistent enough and this guy says he's within .002 for 15 runs.That's pretty good for a bracket racer. Though I don't like the bike much, I do like the remote starter system and his mention of using GS1000 carbs on a 750. I didn't know GS1000 carbs would fit.

Don't forget to brush the outer edges of the fins after painting it black so you get that brushed aluminum look, it'll make it pop out and smack you when you look at it. That's the look I'm gonna get one of these winters when the garage(the man room  ) is clear enough to do it

Looks like its for a 19" wheel. That is a 17" wheel I think, hence the goofy look.

I am doing the same to mine (17" front wheel) , should really perk up the steering, maybe too much, and reduce unsprung weight, and rotating weight (braking), but it should look more like this: http://www5.ocn.ne.jp/~sbmr0201/

For a drag bike its all a weight issue, but if its bracket racing, its consistency.

I never liked those fairings. They just don't "Fit" most of the time, you know? I've seen them where they've worked, but not often.

Well, he says he's running 15's on the drag strip. Still not too shabby for a 32 year old automatic.  

With some real tires and electronis installed back on, I wouldn't be too embaressed riding it down the street... as long as I could take that faring off.

Good point. Automatics (oh, and a superior car) allowed MOPAR to spank Chevy rather ruthlessly in the Super Stock class in the '60's... 413's and 426 wedges vs. 409's. God I still love those cars!

I don't think this bike is the prettiest but it has a certain functional beauty to it. It's all about that consistency as AJW puts it.

Low 13sec is flat impressive for a two speed 836 imho. They say that my 08 Suzuki Bandit 1250 will do 11.30s not that I could get that out of it. 450 more ccs, way more compression and EFI. I think the little Hondamatic is doing ok..

Sorry I don't think 13's is all that fast. My 68 road runner with a 383 would run that with a stock long block and it weighed 3700lbs

It's all relative. That sounds kinda fast for an older bike to me.

My first car was a '68 383 Road Runner automatic with a 3:23 Sure Grip and I think maybe those cars were in the 14's bone stock. With some lower gears-3:55 or 3:91 , headers and fine tuning... and sticky tires, they were in the 13's.

If he advertised on a drag bike forum, it would be snapped up in no time at that price.
If we had ET bracket racing in this country, the CB750 auto would be my first choice of bike.

      Oh well. I don't know if it's because I'm just plain tired from dealing with "Shiftless & Skank or if maybe I'm just getting to the point that, I don't really care if something I think is interesting is liked by anyone else or not, or what. They only made the 750A about 3 years, isn't that right? Well, I figure that if someone can take one of those and make it run like that and be as consistent as that, then more power to them. I feel like I need to give credit for a decent amount of effort, as I see it. While I'd never do that to the 77' CB750A that I got from my Dad, I like the fact that the guy had a notion in that direction and went with it. I mean, if we all went with the same ideas, it'd get to be pretty boring, don't ya think? Don't mind me, I'm just looking to make a difference. In the back of my mind, I knew I should be ready for the different comments, when I posted that one, but I think that "the back of my mind" was on break when I posted that one. Oh well, it's been a nice day, my Dad hasn't had any problems today and THAT makes it a mighty good day, in my book.
