Lucas Oil additives
« on: September 17, 2008, 02:39:32 PM »
Am curious what you guys think of the Lucas stuff for the SOHC bikes. I've used their products in my cars and it nearly fixed my super notchy transmission in my Jeep Wrangler. They claim that it works on everything... Opinions?

Great stuff, but I think it might be too slippery for the clutch.

I use their fuel additive in all my SOHC bikes to keep from having to get into the carbs every Spring.

Lots of us use seafoam to clean carbs and prevent having to pull them. Works great. Lucas, hard to say. If we had dry clutches, I would say go for it but with a wet clutch?

Some of these oil additives work really well.
In the 70s I was contracted to Wynn's,  all their products really did work from a performance point of view.
The down side was having to completely replace the clutch after every meeting.
The clutch would be OK but if not changed it would slip like hell at the next meet.

i just added a little of the Lucas oil additive to my oil tank (warmed oil before adding) and noticed a little difference. bike appeared to idle a little smoother, clutch seemed "grabbier", and acceleration felt smooth.

have you ever looked at the stuff especially when you're finished pouring and have a little dangling out the nozzle? it's like molasses and caramel mixed together.
