Squeeky Points?
« on: September 18, 2008, 09:23:46 AM »
Well I just put new points on about 50 miles ago and now there is squeeking coming from that area. Do I need to grease the point cam area? If so what kind of grease do I use? I've heard of point cam grease, is it anything special or will another kind suffice?

Point cam grease is available (at least in my neck-of-th-woods) from the local auto parts place, in a small tube.  It's formulated not to melt and sling off and contaminate your points in the process.  You still need to keep the stuff off the points, however.  I wouldn't consider using anything else.
