When it comes to parts, what does 'NOS' mean?

Thanks!

Keep in mind NOS does not mean the part is perfect.  Some of this NOS stuff has been moved around and scratched while in the bags so beware.  Just because the seller says NOS you may want to clarify the condition.

Oh and just because it's labeled NOS doesn't mean it's OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), the stuff could be really old aftermarket stuff that hasn't been used or just some hack on Ebay.  Sometimes they'll say something is NOS or Sandcast just to pump up the price, or to get more views.
