Keep on the mend, you know what they say, there are two types of riders...those that have gone down and those that are going down. Glad to see you got back up!!

This is my third (and worst) wreck.

And yeah, everyone goes down at some point, it's just a question of when and how bad. :P
No.

Hey buddy!  I haven't spent much time on SOHC as of late but so glad to see you on here.  Concerning those pants, I rode up on your crash about 2 min's after you hit the ground, saw how far you slid.  Your gear #$%*in ruled.  I'm getting myself some pants like that.  I'm sorry they had to cut the gear off you but hey, there's always more gear.

Hey Ryan!

Yeah, I had no epidermal issues with the gear I had on. They only cut the jacket and shirt off. Marcus has the pants, they are in fine condition, though the balistic pads should prolly be changed out.
If I ride again, though, I'm not gettin on a bike without full leathers with full armor. I'm betting i wouldnt have broken my back if I had had the back armor of a full racing suit. My shoulder probably wouldnt have been as bad either.

It's pretty crazy just how vulnerable we are as motorcyclists. Sorry to hear your neighbor didn't make it.

If anyone wants to know how well those rain pants with kevlar and balistic pads work, they work freakin awesome.

YES. Glad to hear you're in one piece and in good spirits! I have to know, what pants were you wearing? Other folks probably want to know too.. please link me!

haven't been on the forum lately sorry to hear about your accident and glad you are well on the road to recovery and DO recover fully before getting on another bike. nothing like reinjering yourself just to ride. i had to wait over ten years to ride again but before that i had to have sugery on my left leg. problem was i was in too big a hurry to do things and tore the scar open even more and one year later i was back in for more surgery and that took another year to heal

Don't most stunt men get paid more than that for such a spectacular crash?  ??? ;D

prayers to Mark.   bad crash.  he should be ok with the broken vertebrae....I myself have 4, plus 2 discs crushed to inside against cord.....they do not want to operate.  It severly limits what I can do, and I'm sure even with the limitations Mark will be ok and do well.

Hmm, that got me for a second (especially the 11 pages of replies) until i noticed which year they were from.

On a side note, when someone gets hurt, go ahead and give no matter if you think they need it or not.  I've given to quite a few causes, friends, friends of friends, people I've never met in communities I'm active in, but when I needed support, I almost ended up in the poor house.  Two years of medical bills and surgeries to fix a crushed leg, and not one single person I knew stood up to help me other than my brother.  So, no matter who it is, no matter how strong and capable you think they are, no matter whether you like them or not, regardless of whether or not they have a family or ask for support, just remember we all need support.  So, even though it never came around for me, I will continue to believe in the golden rule, and I hope that everyone else on this forum does too.
