Kitsune, I know that's goin' out to Mark but I just want to say you moved me too.

Mark, I'm clearly just one of many here who have you in thoughts and prayers, every day.
Just a little speechless right now, kinda emotional, just beat this brother.

So good to see that this thread has been made a "Sticky", sure will be OUT there so folks can keep up with it easier. Thanks to whoever did it (Glenn, Bob or SteveD?). Now, just need Mark to get back around to the point, healthwise, before the accident. ;)  Hang in there Mark, we're ALL pulling for your recovery. :)

Sure hope Mark's doing, at least, somewhat better. I know that as soon as Paul (paulages) has any news, we will hear it. He's pretty thorough about things. ;)  You really have to feel for his Mother (his whole family and friends actually).

Mark, we are still pulling for your recovery there guy. The Prayers are steady and sure. God knows what's to come out of this and we have to trust in him! ;)

yeah, sorry no new news. i got a little more info in the crash... seems like he and a rider were passing a can when the front rider balked and backed off. mark didn't see that and his front tire hit the other riders muffler. his friend i talked to said that as he understood it, mark was plainly lucid when he came out of surgery, so it sounds like the drugs and trach tube probably have a lot to do with his current state. i'll try to call his mother tomorrow to check for an update.

update on the donations: there has been $248 donated through paypal so far, and a couple of people indicated that they were sending money the old fashioned way. thanks again, guys.

A cousin of mine back about 20 years ago T boned a car (badly) and ended up in a coma for several weeks. Skin graphs were required (no leathers?) and likely a tracheotomy. His wonderful girlfriend essentially lived at the hospital; he came out of the coma and, as far as I can tell, had a complete recovery.

I bring this up not to paint a happy face on the seriousness of Mlinder's situation. Rather, a reminder that as grim as it may seem at times and as agonizingly slow any progress comes the human body and spirit are capable of spectacular and miraculous things.

Hey Paul, thanks for the info on the accident and about his condition, after surgery. I've passed that info onto the Twins site too. Sure do appreciate the updates as you get them. ;)

$248 is a bit light considering we have 4,000 members.

Yes, what hondaman said. I don't have paypal yet so I need another way to give and I will, I know personally that if this happened to me it would only take a couple of months for the bills to overcome my wife, two kids and two stepkids. I just donated 12.00$ a week out of my paycheck for the next year to united way (while I can we just had 5 more layoffs today and my heart is still on the floor), I don't have much money but I can still help so please if there is a way for money order, cashiers check or whatever I have 25.00$ I would like to give.

We should really try to get these donations going.  I was in an accident when I was younger and didn't have insurance and the bills really mounted up.  I'm not saying we'll be able to cover his medical expenses, but when he gets home, it will be nice to order in meals and pay a few bills.  We can do better than $248.  Think of all the little (or big sometimes) amounts we spend on our bikes.  They're just bikes.  This is another human.  Let's do this!!
