CB750K6 Mechanic recomendation - Cleveland Oh.
« on: June 13, 2011, 10:58:45 AM »
Hi Ya'll.
I've been lurking here for a while. Learning while I work on my CB360.
Got transferred from Austin to Cleveland for the summer. I really like your city,  and it's not 100+ degrees.
Decided to buy a bike up here and ride it back to Austin.
Found a great 750K6 for a decent price on craigslist.

So been reading the manuals, doing a tuneup, cleaning off a lot of the grime.
Even after adjusting the cam chain it's noisier than grandma in the silverware drawer.
It's freaking me out!
I've read how these are pretty noisy, but I'd like to take it to somebody to have them check it out.
Any suggestions?
Steve

It's hard to judge the noisiness, it's pretty subjective. However, when you say you adjusted the tensioner, you may not have. Over the years, they can get stuck. You follow the procedure, but nothing really moves. The only way to verify the tensioner is working properly is to remove it and check the shaft and locking mechanism. It might just need some cleaning up. Might be worth a try.
