Greetings From Illinois CB750 Owner

Hi all,

After a decade away, I've gotten bitten by the bike bug again. An injury (not motorcycle-related) sidelined me for a while, but this summer, I've been going nuts wanting to ride again.

While talking about this with an old friend and riding buddy, he mentioned that he still had his first road bike, a CB750K4, sitting collecting dust in the shed. He told me that I could have it for a dollar. Well, that was over a month ago and we finally got the bike up to my place. It is a project, no doubt about it, but it is doable and I've rebuilt worse!

This will actually be my second 750 SOHC, my first being a '76 Super Sport that I bought new in 1977 to ride while building out an all chrome 96 inch '49 Panhead chop. That F eventually got a full-on 900cc build-up using an RC kit. It was fast for its day.

This new (to me at least) bike will be much milder than the F. It's a bit too rough for restoration (from a practical standpoint), so it will most likely become a cafe.

Sourcing parts will probably be my main concern, than of course, hopefully finding fellow 750 riders to hang with once it's built.

Welcome!  Lots of forum members here in northern Illinois.  It should be relatively easy to find parts for your K4, depending on what you need, too.  Always lots of 750 parts on eBay, check the FAQ section for more parts sources, and post in the Parts Wanted section, a number of us are packrats of the highest caliber :D

Got pics?
