This Is A Long Shot But I'll Try Anyhow
« on: September 16, 2005, 01:18:49 AM »
I'm looking for someone who will be traveling South sometime soon. I've just purchased another bike that is in pieces and I'm trying to find a way to get it to Paris, TN. (120 miles NW of Nashville and 120 miles NE of Memphis) without me having to make the trip both ways. The bike is located in PA and he is willing to take it as far as Wheeling, WV to help me out if necessary. I have an alternate means but thought that I might get lucky by posting here. I would settle for someone bringing it to Louisville, KY even. I am willing to pay a reasonable fee for the bike to be delivered to a location that I can get to without missing much work here at home. Any day of the week is good for me. Thanks for even considering this and if the delivery person needs anything from this area all they have to do is ask.

You're timing is about three months off.  I live in PA, and took the family to Memphis on vacation in June.

On the UK VFR site they have a section called "VifferMail" where anyone who wants something delivered around the country posts and waits to see if anyone is going that way (bike, car or truck).

We could try CB-Mail here?

CB Mail would be awesome.

I'm driving from Seattle to MO in October. I'll have a wagon and may be able to take something that way depending on size. Space is limited and I don't plan on having a trailer.

Right now we're planning on the northern route along I-90 and then down through Iowa.

Ping me if you have something in mind.

LOL. Not that I know of but I don't visit Memphis anymore than I absolutely have to. You never know. The King is still alive (yeah right). If you really want to have a great time you should check out Tunica, Mississippi and all of the casinos next time you visit Memphis. It's about 30 miles South of Memphis. It's a great place to make a gaming donation and the people are really friendly. Give me a shout next time you get out this way and I'll show you the sights.

Are you reading my mind?  We stayed in a hotel in Tunica.  I made some gaming donations there.

Cool. I was thinking that you were way to close to not at least take a look at Tunica. The offer still stands "If you ever get back out this way let me know and I'll donate with you". Paris

We're planning on returning sometime.  (My wife may not let me "donate" so much next time).  If we do, I'll take you up on that offer.  Just let me know if you need anything hauled from PA ahead of time.
