Uh Oh, This Just Might Cause A Stir!

Would you call it a "Harlamaha" or "Yamarley" ot maybe a "Harleyaha" or possibly a "Yamadavidson"?

Probably should have titled this: "Don't Look Duster, But It's Too Late!" Sorry duster, hope this doesn't rattle you too much. :-\

Too darn short to cause any confusion..

On closer look , it looks like it may have started as a Harley frame, but the aspect ratio of the engine plus the tanks pushed higher just gives it a different look.

Nice loking bobber, Bill.
Strange drive chain arrangement, though.

I'm gonna have to get me one of those Yamaha 650's.

He claims that it is a Harley frame, I don't know what all he's done to it, I didn't read all of the story on it, guess I should have.

Actually, I think that is an aftermarket 750cc cylinder/head combination. I looks bigger that the fins of a stock 650. I would think that engine could lay down 75 horsepower if the owner wanted and that puts it ahead of any stock, vintage Harley up to 88 inches that I know of.

I haven't been over there in a while, so I'll go read-up on it.

But you CAN'T make it go. There's no throttle or clutch. Stopping would be tough, too, with no front brake...

what is an internal throttle and clutch... is that like that foxfire movie where you must think where you want the bike to go?  possibly in a foreign language so that if it is your 1st language it will self destruct?

put the link above the pictures then we won't all miss it thinking it is a portion of the signature or just plain miss it.   :P

There ya go hef, can you see it now? :)

Now, I'm not sure how he has those controls set up, but I figure that since he's the one who did it, he should know. If you don't like it, just say so. Don't go picking at it. Hope you have a good day hef. ;)

i do think it is cool... but w/out the explanation... i thought it was unfinished.

I just went back and looked closer at those handlebars and it looks like you can see that they are cut on each side and the outer piece must rotate and have the cable inside the bars. Myself, like some have already said, I'd rather have the usual controls too. I would like to have handle bar grips also. I Would be interested to know how he has the clutch setup so that it can be operated that way. I may not want to do things the way some one else did (like the controls on this one) but I Do find it interesting that different way that folks come up with to accomplish what they want. ;)

                              Later on, Bill ;)

Sorry bout that, been kinda off track lately with the goings on about my Dad and my (so called) brother and his wife. I though it wasn't finished yet also, until I read the info about it and I didn't think about anyone not seeing the link below the picture, I've always done it that way.

Looks like some good potential<sp? there but that front tire is huge. I think I'd have to change that!

You can just see the inernal controls in the photos - they're a favourite for custom builders like Russell Mitchell at Exile Cycles. They use some internal cam type affair and route the cables through the bars and tubes. Very very neat but I just wonder if they ever snag up - I mean how many people make sure the inside of a welded frame seam is smooth?!  ;D

You know, while I DO like a clean look of about ANY area of a bike, I ALSO like the bike to at least Look Finished and with the internal controls and NO hand grips, it doesn't look finished to me. I enjoy the feel of wrapping my right hand around the throttle and operating the clutch lever, along with the front brake. Now, I DO like hiding the wiring and such as that.
