At the clutch handle end, there is a tiny switch embedded in the hinge that attaches to the handlebar. It seems that the wires tend to bend and break about 1 -2 inches from the handle end. Probably from years of flexing. If you disconnect the wires behind the headlight and disconnect the clutch cable, you can pull the cable out through the handle end. But will have to readjust the clutch after you put it back together. I repaired mine by carefully striping about 2 inches of insulation at the clutch handle end, wrapped the wires with a little tape, disconnected the wires behind the headlight, and slid a 3 inch piece of black heat-shrink tubing over the cut. Shrunk right over, is almost invisable, and is stronger than before. reconnected the wire and it took 15 minutes.
