Carbs over flowing!!! Help
« on: September 26, 2008, 05:59:57 PM »
I need help with my carbs (75 CB750K). When I turn gas on, the carbs fill up and out the over flow tubes. I removed the bowls and checked the movement of the floats & float needle. They move together and smoothly. The floats are NOT brass. Not sure what they are made of but appear dark brownsih-black in color. Has anyone had this issue?

Has anyone had this issue? ;D most of us.  Your floats are hanging up somewhere.  Can you identify which one is over flowing by which tube it is coming from?  Then you can get in there.  Could be a burr on the seat.  Sometimes those floats will hang up on the side of the float bowl.  Be sure you do not have a leak in a float causing it to sink instead of swim.  Something is keeping it from floating up and shutting of the flow with the needle valve and seat.  If the float level is set wrong you can have this issue too.  This will give you some stuff to tackle.  Good luck with it...

Make sure the floats actually float, and that the float height is correct.  Next, the float overflow tube can get cracked or damaged allowing fuel to flow out before it reaches the top of the overflow tube.  Also, it could be your float valve damaged/worn, causing additional fuel to flow into the float bowl even when the valve is trying to close.  That's all I can think of.

Rust or dirt inside the tank making its way past the fuel strainer to the carbs will cause it too.
