i truly feel awful for the people that are losing their asses on wall street and their pensions with the failure of the bailout. however, being very low income, living paycheck to paycheck the wife and i are actually not being hurt at all with no stocks (other than 25 shares of ben and jerrys i got 20 years ago) and no pension plans. i cant imagine waking up one morning and finding out you have lost everything.

but if your smart your in it for the long run
hold tight and diversify

as a recently retired person i hope you are planningf for the future

Most of the losses are on paper.  You don't actually lose anything unless you sell in a panic. Most of the time you just need to be patient and it will go back up. 

Did you get the picture I sent?  I'm waiting for your opinion.

Unfortunatly, the best we can do right now is stabilize or slow down the market, with the bail out...

Also, those in the middle to lower class will be hit first. The fed printed and threw 600 billion out into the economy today. So prepare for milk to go for about four bucks a gallon by the end of the week....

If you look at this in a historical context, it is no worse than the recession of the 70s or 80s. It just is making more noise with all the bank failures. Banks who got themselves into this mess with bad credit practices among other things. Now the pres wants to Fuk us sideways AGAIN to bail their asses and their over paid CEOs out. At this point, I am happy the bailout failed. WE need more banking regulation AND wall street regulation. Obviously an open market does NOT work if there are no morals. As anyone with 2 eyes can see, wall street has NO morals.

eldar,our illustrious congress de-regulated the banking industry about 10 years ago,and now we`re paying.
