Part # question
« on: October 04, 2008, 12:54:52 PM »
I am a new guy and am in need of a part #.  I have a 1976 cb750F and have just broke down the carbs for cleaning.  One of the choke valves has an area that has cracked and broken away allowing air to get through when the valve is shut.  I have looked at oem diagrams of the carbs on a few sites and can't locate the part.  Any help would be great. Thanks...

cmsnl.com is a good site to see what's still available for these bikes. Here's your carbs from their site:

http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cb750f-750-super-sport-76-us_model490/partslist/E++18.html

  If you live in the U.S. then you can take the part # from the cmsnl site and use it to purchase from Honda supplier in the states.

    Might be cheaper to just buy a set of used carbs for parts. If you do, make sure to get ones stamped with the same identifying #'s to avoid differences in parts.

Don't worry about it.  I would smooth the broken area with a dremel to prevent further cracking and put her back together.  A small missing piece will not affect starting.

Thanks Clyde...sorry it took me a few days to get back to this.  I have attached an image of the choke valve but it's a little fuzzy.  If you have this part, or anyone else for that matter, and would like to sell it please let me know.  I wasn't too worried after King Customs feedback but I noticed the part is fractured all the way to the hinged area.  I would like to replace if possible.  Thanks for your help.
