Hey everyone-- I just picked up a 1974 honda cb550 that is in pretty good condition. It looks amazing and runs well, but the front brake was dragging when i got it so I decided to pull the caliper off today and rebuild it.
Well, I unbolted it and took the pads off, and pumped the lever a few times to try to pop the piston out. it came out really far (28.4mm of the piston is exposed at the moment) but I can't get it to budge ANY farther.
I disconnected it from the hydraulic line and put on a rubber glove and tried to pull it out, I tried to pry it out with bicycle tire levers, and then i put it back on and pumped again.
I read that grease guns and air hoses can be used to pop stubborn calipers out, but is there another way? I don't have either of those at my disposal.
Please, please let me know what I can do to get this guy out (or if I should somehow be way more of a man and be able to take it out with my hands).
