gas tank metal thickness???

what gauge is the steel on a 78 750 SS tank... any ideas?

Diggin up another old thread.

Im just curious, are there some tanks that are thicker than others? I have a tank off a 1970 750 and it feels heavier than my other tanks. Also the petcock bolts inside the tank are different.
