front end swap
« on: September 30, 2008, 11:59:26 AM »
has anyone done a  front end swap of a 900 custom (82 model) to a 74cb750?  i recently purchased one with the idea of putting it on because of the larger fork tube diameters and the dual disc setup.

i would appreciate any input on this.

If you are swapping the ENTIRE front end, steering stem and all you should be fine...since if I remember correctly the all balls bearing kit I got listed the CB650 custom as a bike the same bearings would work for...but a quick way to check would be to verify that an aftermarket roller bearing kit will work for both bikes...The only issues you might run into besides that is the steering stops..

thanks for your reply.  i already have a 650 front end on it with the tapered bearings on it.  it looked like there will be a bit of modification necessary.

thanks,
