Mikuni VM34 setup (CycleX)

I just came into a set (used) and am going to fit them to my 78 750k.  Planning a big bore engine build over the winter.  Anyone tried this setup on a stock frame?  Stock motor?  The question was posed earlier in this thread...http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=11968.0
 but I figured I'd post a new one instead of ressurrecting it.
They came off a dude's chopper -- stock motor-- said they ran fine.  I will now attempt to fit it to the "softail" frame and post pics when I can
