When gadgets infest a bike
« on: February 05, 2011, 12:24:55 PM »
I was looking around for a waterproof mount for my phone which is also a gps. I'm kind of new to the area so I would like it for getting in and then back out of all the nice roads around. I came across this while looking for reviews.

He explained he is on call 24/7 but I dont know if it explains everything on here.

I ended up buying a zippered waterproof mount. anyone else got something like this ? maybe not as extreme?

Check out Amazon for an Arkon GPS mount.  I have one that I requested for Christmas.  I have tested it on the bike for a short ride and seems well made, but I have not been in the rain yet.  I couldn't believe the price was only $16 and change.  You certainly can't beat it for the price.

I saw that one. The one I ordered was like $25 shipped. Its supposed to be just for GPS but my phone should fit. If it doesnt work out Ill get the one you mentioned. A little bit of velcro strap for peace of mind. I dont prefer to ride in the rain anyway.

The two outer ones are for checking how fast traffic falls behind you as you speed on down the highway, the two inner ones are for checking how good you look as you do... :-* :-* ;D

Riding a motorcycle is one of the last complete freedoms available........ anything more than the speedo/tach on your bike reduces the experience and enslaves you to your gadgets... not my cup of tea  :)

Is that right hand thing in the pic. a Fish Finder....? ;D ;D

maybe hes a fighter pilot and it doesnt bother him to have potentially life threatening distractions going on.

but why would you need a map and a gps? eh, i dunno.

Geez my boat doesn't have that much instrumentation.

Park that thing in the city once and just watch the gadgets dissappear!

the only thing i'd want on a bimmer bike would be a GPS system...  that's just because i'd like to use a GS off road, where it was built to!!

my buddies dad has an FZ1, and the radar detector is built into the front fairing and rear tail light.  all it does to tell him if something is going on is flash a little blue led on the dash and also a dim red on above his eyes in his helmet if he turns on the wireless.  super easy, super sano...

but for the first picture...  a cell phone mount??  when i'm riding, i can't even feel my phone vibrate, because i don't give a crap if it's ringing!!  riding is about just that, the ride!!  OH MAN i want my build done!!   >:( >:(
