Oil Pressure switch prob?

No current to indicator light. Is the best way to test the switch to test  impedence? Is the switch open or closed when there is no pressure? I'll test the harness as well, but had no problems before removing and replacing engine.

Switch is closed when there's no pressure, completing the circuit to ground.  Test by disconnecting the lead at the switch and touching it to a ground point, light should come on.  If not, your problem lies elsewhere.

I 'fixed' mine a couple of times when i first had the bike - then I gave up. Now its either on all the time or never on. I found it's way easier to check the oil level once a month.

The last time I changed the switch was in '79'. If it goes 'bang' soon I'll have done okay and I guess I'm ready for that rebuild. Probably fix first gear while I'm at it.

Yep light comes on when switch is bypassed. Time for a new switch.
