Question about Damage on a K2 750 head
« on: October 03, 2008, 08:03:21 PM »
Found a head in my stash today.. 2 exhaust seats are hammered.

That is they have a thin edge at the widest part and appear sunken into the head!! In fact it seemed like it had to be pounding up and down so long that the start of the port shroomed in.. :o..like at least an 1/8 lip or more of aluminum, all the way around making the port smaller!!

Just 1 & 4.. What caused this ?

I am thinking that the timing went way off and it got really really hot..
