matador red fork cover for a cb350f
« on: October 03, 2008, 06:18:33 PM »
My cb350f is now dent free other than the left fork cover. it looks like it took a fall in someones garage & has a crease in it. I have another but the paint is impossible to match. I was wondering if anyone had a part bike with decent paint that I could purchase one from.

I've tried myself of course. I'm planning on having the whole bike professionaly painted later, was just looking for a replacement for now. The tank & fork covers have a few chips too. But even painting the tank, side covers, & fork covers will be pricey. 2 colors, flake, & a coat of clear (found the paint codes). Even with the smallest cans there will be a lot left over, and shops don't really keep around stock paints for 1973 hondas.
Do you know of any reputable shops that are good with stock honda colors in Texas? I only know of a few collison places & Austin & my dealings with them have been fairly shadey.

Sorry...I paint them myself.

Most get thier paint kits from Don Dirtbiker....he has good stuff and is cheap paint wise.

Thanks man,
I checked out his site, that is cheap. I haven't painted a car/bike in about 15 years though and no longer have the equiptment or a good clean room. My garage is now a practice space for some local bands, don't think they would like me painting a bike in there with thier gear.  Maybe when I tear the bike down this winter I can visit ya & pay you to paint the parts, buy you a few beers as well.

I'm planning on Luchanback, think I have her road worthy enough for it. We can figure it out then, that reminds me I need to reserve a hotel room.

What bikes are you going to bring?

2 750's and the 400.

Prolly have to haul a Vmax...or maybe another 750.

Four is about the limit with my setup

If not I'll throw the 350 in with the rest as a spare... ;)
