is it possible? i tried it today with a 12v battery. i took the negative lead and connected it to black/white wire for the kill switch. and then connected a wire into the blue or yellow (i tried both sides) and then touched the other end of the wire coming from the blue or yellow wire to the positive. hoping the positive would act as the points opening and closing. still no spark. i also tried to attach the negative to part thats bolts to the frame. still nothing. am i missing something? is this not a proper way to test the coils? also i had 4.5ohms at blue and yellow wires when i checked for resistance. but i got nothing at the boots. and i cut back the wire in hopes of getting a better connection. still nothing. HELLLPPP PLEAAASE! and the bike is a 1971 CB500F. thanks!
