Considering a VFR Interceptor

Everytime I go to the shop to get parts for my 750 I look at and almost drool over the '07 VFR in the showroom.  I enjoy riding my CB but I don't want to have to work on it a lot not to mention I'd like more power.


Someone talk me out of buying a brand new Honda...
No matter how fast or how far I rode, I couldn't leave her memory behind.

Wait a little and I think its the 09's? are completely redone with a V-5 engine!
   This pretty much sums it up.   76' CB592 cafe. 69 750 project, 03 CBR954, 75 750 super sport.

Your age is hidden from our view.  Believe me, it as possibly the most important factor.  I bought a new '06 VFR, rode it a little over 600 miles and sold it.  I loved the power, handling, brakes and looks, but my hands got numb after only a mile or so of riding.  I admit I am old and now prefer the more upright riding position.

Hmm... looks like your right. I cant seem to find a definite report on it. Some sites are saying yes and some for 2010 and some are saying no.

Kinda disappointing, they got to replace the blackbird and VFR800 soon....

I really like the VFR, if it did not have those stupid radiators on the sides it would make an excellent street fighter almost as soon as you took off the fairing.

Sorry no talkin ya out of an interceptor here lol...Im actually looking at getting a '00 non VTec soon. All depends on if the major contract i start on monday pans out...btw..the 09 is still a V4 was looking at the honda site last night.

I'd suggest finding a  pre V-TEC example.  Nices ones are out there, as a friend of mine recently proved.  V-TEC in that bike was an answer to a question nobody asked.  Besides, the pre-V-TEC bikes still have the gear driven cams, which is cool.

Yeah, Viffers are kewl.  I would gouge someone's eyes out for a Euro-spec NC30 VFR400.  LOVE single-sided swingarms.  Gear-driven cams are also teh awesomez.

33. Back in 96 I bought a new Ninja 600 and rode the wheels off of it including 1700+ miles from Indiana to South Carolina and back.  Tons of fun in the mountains.

I thought that the VFR was discontinued in '07?   This is the anniversary model with the retro paint.

 
I told my buddy the parts jockey that if it's still there in January we'd talk about it. ;D

Ditto. I had a '00 for 5yrs/90,000km. It was horrendously complicated and hard to work on, but I forgave it that for being such a good work horse. Sold it to get into the 'old' stuff.

I sold mine for the same reason.  I had the urge to tinker and nothing ever broke or even needed adjustment on my VFR.  Oil changes took some time with all the plastic, but that's about my only complaint.  It's a good compliment to an older bike when you want to just jump on something and ride without too much worry.

Samething for me with my vfr750 '94.I sold it and i don't regret it.I am not old...i don't think so!? but the riding position was drastic for me.

I rode mine today.  I'm beginning to agree with Okie, one more year maybe, then something with a more upright position.

I traded my beloved 91 VFR....

for an 08 Suzuki Bandit 1250..

The VFR was gear driven cams, full header left side exhaust that was just a wonderful music box. I don't know of a better sounding bike! The Suzuki will drag two people 80+mph with luggage and not break a sweat. I miss the VFR it was the best back road bike I ever had, just not enough poop to carry two and luggage. The new VFR 800 I'm sure would do fine on the open road...

Not saying "I did it", but I thought about it and went back and they are going to run a credit check.  They are closed Monday so I'll go back on Tuesday and talk with them more.  I may trade in my 750, depends what they are willing to give me for it.

Now that is the best looking VFR of the lot, IMHO. The only downside to that one (well, a '90 actually) is that it used 25% more fuel for exactly the same ride, as my '00 800. That's the diff between carbs and fi I suppose.
