I try not to ride the highway but in order to get from school to home on the weekends, i need to ride a small stretch of highway. well, on the backroads doing 60-ish MPH, bike does great. great throttle response and smooth riding. however, once i hit the interstate and WOT, the bike will do fine for a few 100ft. and then start to surge and lose power. i'll let off, maybe pull the clutch, let the bike idle for a sec., and then throttle the bike some up to speed. it'd do it repeatedly at speeds over 75-80MPH.
i have a 75k engine in my 78F with the stock carbs. neeldle on the middle clip, 115 mains, stock airbox with a K&N, stock 4-1 w/ kerker slip-on. i never noticed it before, especially on my 400 mile round trip from home to K.C. It's been about 1000 miles since my last routine maintenance. i haven't had a chance to look at the bike cause of school occupys most of my time. any thoughts? my first feeling is a fuel delivery problem but seems uncertain with only 1000 miles.
