Topic: Perfect old mans' bike

 For relaxed country road touring, I'm appreciating this bike more and more - not too heavy, docile handling, excellent wind protection, and with secure, weatherproof bags. The console signal light indicators are big too, unlike the 78 750F, so that I have never forgotten they were on and signalled for miles.     Anyone else have one?
   1981 Honda Silverwing GL500 Interstate

       - 497cc water-cooled twin
       - shaft drive

  Thanks SSCR. That was taken yesterday in north-east central Saskatchewan, Canada. It was an unseasonably warm day here at latitude 52N so I did a 350 mile round trip to deliver a couple of fresh baked apple pies from my wife to her farmer brothers working in the fields on the last of the fall harvest.  Note pie box replacing the rear seat/cowl for this trip.

Great bikes!

I had an '81 CX500 Custom, and it was a great bike.  A buddy of mine had the SilverWing and he liked it too.

They come up for sale every now and again around here.
