The young guy is just there for the job, that can be true..

 but also,
That young guy could have been hanging around the shop for 10 years or had his own bike for 15 years..

or like  Trev Deeley, go on to be one of the most successful mc dealers in the world..

So... just like new folks coming on here.. you just never know at first glance what you are dealing with..preconcieved notions are not a personality asset..

before I was 17, I could lace a wheel & assemble half the bikes at the Honda shop as they came out of the crates..

Stores can charge whatever they want and I can buy wherever I want. I already said I prefer to buy at my local dealer, but I think my preference wears out around $8-$10. I work hard for my money and don't consider my local shop a charity to be supported. I don't think anyone here is saying the shops shouldn't set their own prices. I think some people are just lamenting the fact that they can't/won't buy their stuff local because the prise differential is too great. No big deal, it's simple capitalism. They set the price, we choose where to buy. It really works out quite well for both them and us.
