If you're looking for handlebars, I have a set of mini-apes and a matching clutch cable for sale:

thanks for the offer but ill pass.  ill be using 1" bars and controls!

yeah that setup sounds like the same type of hook ups as the veypor too. Magnetic speedo and a sensor for the coil. Also it came with a engine temp sensor for either water or air cooled motors, ambient air. My buddy just put one on his hurricane and I was impressed with how much stuff it came with. The only down side is it looks very modern not very vintage. The only way I would use it on an old bike was if I found someplace to blend it in with the bike so no one sees it when the bike is off.

thanks for the info, ill have to look around to see what will work best

I like the bike and the concept of the exhaust, but it looks as though there isn't going to be very much if any cornering clearance. And you would scratch your nice pipes finding out.

+1.  Would it be possible to bring them in a little or run them on the other side so you don't have to deal with the big alternator bulge out the side?

bahhh, i aint scared!  theres about 3" ground clearance which is more than it looks.  i cut the pipes down this morning before work so ill post pics later tonight.  its not like the pipes hinder clearance a whole lot more than the engine cases or forward controls...its a low bike to begin with but thats how i want it!

both pipes sit right up against the bottom of the engine case and up agains the frame rail so there is NO room to move them any...and they are on both sides so no switching stuff around (you know, 4 pipes for 4 cylinders).

sorry i havent updated in a while guys.  ive been busy working on my bmw and unforunately, 4 wheels takes more time (and money) haha!  got a bit of stuff done today on my day off from work..

made a brake stay arm and spacer for the rear drum.  not mounted tight here but you get the idea..

the begining of my shift/brake linkages.. stainless rod and a box of parts:

most of the brackets and mounts were powdercoated along with the whole front end.  new -2" fork tubes were installed.

looking great out of curiosity where are you getting the ball joints for your linkage from? Do you have a good source for those?

FWIW this is one of the better bob builds I have seen, the frame looks right which is a big part IMO of custom MC.

nice bike, Am I seeing this right? it looks like your shift pattern will be inverted, i.e.1st up 4 down??. long day today, I may be wrong.

yup, got them from mcmaster.com ...they had one of the bigger selections and i wanted a metal on metal joint so it didnt wear out fast.  they are chrome plated (yellow chrome).

yup.  not something i was aiming to do but the exhaust runs right along the frame so i couldnt drop the linkage down to get the correct shift pattern.  to me, a good looking exhaust makes the bike more than an inverted shift pattern  8)

hopefully frame will be welded this weekend and then go out for powdercoat.  then all of the wiring can happen!!

no.  kickstart only, minimal accessories so there wont be many wires.  im going to hide alot of it inside the starter galley if possible.
