I may not be out on the S&S exhaust just yet. Talked to the guy that sold it to me (bought it last November!) and he was very cool. He's got couple more sets still in boxes so he's going to mock up some on one of his 550s to check the fit. So I'll either get these to fit, get another set of S&S pipes or my money back. It's very nice to be dealing with somebody that gives a shyte. He certainly didn't need to do anything as this sale was almost 10 months ago.

Had another great dealing with Michael Morse from vintage brakes. Bought some Ferrodo pads and an 11mm brembo master from him. Very knowledgable and helpful guy. So in my experience, it seems like for every one douchebag out there just trying to get over on people there's ten guys doing the right thing. Perhaps my baseline nihilism is misplaced at times?? Ahh, probably not...

Well, no new pictures of the bike but, just to prove that I have been busy, here is a couple shots of my brand new 140x160cm Refratarri Valoriani wood-burning pizza oven (the space is mine, too...)

Remind me to show you pictures of the one I built by hand! I'm not at my computer where the pictures are stored, but I built an oven several years ago.. makes incredible pizza.

I'd love to see that. When we build our next house in a year or two I want to build a full wood burning station with oven for pizzas/breads, smoker and grill. Nothing like a pizza cooked in 90 seconds...

Finally got the electrics somewhat sorted out, at least got movement from the starter. Next step is to fire it up tonight. Got kind of a crappy oil leak from the stoopid clutch cover gasket. Don't really know why but I've had it off about twenty times trying to make sure I got the clutch put back together properly. So, anyway, barring oil spewing across the shop, I WILL fire it tonight.

Will bring the camera to record the explosion/ignition.

Oh yea, the tank is coming too...

It f-ing works! Hell, it even idles! Got it goin today and I am super stoked.

Would it be unrealistic to ride it down the street with no seat, no brakes and zipties holding the controls on the handlebars?

Oh yeah, maybe a chain would help, too.

Back to the shop. Vid later...

i'd love a pizza oven, they use way too much gas though.

I came in late on this discussion. The bike interests me but I freaking LOVE good pizza. Can I assume that you are selling pizza from this fabulous oven somewhere in the metro? Do fellow SOHC'ers get the good seats?

ALways looking for a good pizza and an excuse to ride.

I can promise to drag at least 3-4 other vintage CBs with me!

Whats the name and location of your place?

Did the video ever get posted?

Good luck,
Bill

I guess I need to update my profile. I was a St Paul guy for 8 years but just moved to the country in north central Iowa about 4 months ago. The oven pictured is in the restaurant I'm building in Ames.

Running pods in the end I take it.  I'm gonna have to go back to the beginning of this thread to refresh myself on the mods and stuff.

Dang I used to get your way quite often. Years back one of my guys ( a voraciaous eater) used to take me to a pizza place near you that had really good heavy thick crust...

I bet yours will be a winner.

I just went through and re-read this entire post.  Talk about inspiration!  I do have to say you disgust me, what with your opening your own business, family, driving two and a half hours just to get to your shop, moving, remodeling... two places!  Bah!  and you still manage to turn something like this out.

I on the other hand can hardly get up off my a$$ to walk 10 feet to my garage.  Thank you Moham for pointing out my faults...  ;)

I think it's time to go work on my project.
