with the britten being my dream bike of all dream bikes (my dad touched one last year!  ;D )... i've got some material on them.

some from cycle world from back in the late 80s/early 90s
another write up in my encyclopedia of motorcycles
and another large print from the art of the motorcycle, hangs in the office

i'll try to scan some of it and post it up here when i get a chance.

john britten is what i would consider one of, if not the most staggering loss to the redefinition of the motorcycle era.

That bike still looks good and would create a bit of a stir, if it came out today...

Yes he is. I am in aw over what he can do. Makes me wonder if I am living upto my own potential with this bike build.. Sure makes a man (or woman) think things over.. Great story tho.

Sam Britten - John's son - has put together a Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Britten-Motorcycle-Company/169980059684777

He is also working on updating the www.britten.co.nz website. Sam has enormous talent, so hopefully there will be some good content in there.

We dug up and restored some photos that Harry Ruffell (my dad) had taken of John and the bike. They are on the DVD along with other new content.

Regards,

Ben

The bike above, or maybe it's just a really good replica, is on display now at the Barber's Motorsports Museum.

Had the pleasure of scrutineering the bike during the Ducati Clubraces at Assen in Holland. Awesome bike with some very nice features way ahead of its time. Had tears in my eyes from time to time when watching the DVD. Specially the reaction of his wife and son when Andrew Stroud wheelied alongside Pascal Picotte on the factory Ducati. And then the moment when it broke down due to a battery connector!
My brother has been at the 'factory' also when he was on vacation in New Zealand. John had passed away by then, and there was 'almost' no activity other than servicing a bike which was used for demo's.

Better sorry for failing then for the lack of trying.
