TAIL LIGHT OPTIONS
« on: October 07, 2008, 01:35:51 PM »
I would like to get rid of that huge tail light mount/assembly on my 1974 cb550.  Does anybody have any ideas, pictures, etc?

I would like to keep the stock fender but mount a light w/a lower profile.

Thanks!!

I guess that could mount the other way around.  Having trouble twisting my head around to see it though, lol.  Wonder if it would point straight on Carpy's bobbed rear fender.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Got the tombstone on all 3 of my bikes. The only thing I'll never agree with Honda on is these rear lights. I don't sell them, list them, or save them, I just throw them away, so that maybe that will be one ridicilous tailight on the streets. Although, I did just purchase two single bullet style brake lights for $6 a piece from Advanced auto. The bolt right on to the blinker holes. Should look sharp. Just tryin to figure out where to mount my tag now, since the tomb light has always taken care of it. Amy ideas let me know - Javi

Ok, so a couple questions then:

1. Do I have to drill the fender for that tombstone, or is it a match?  And how does anyone think it would look on a cafe racer?

2. Does anybody know if Carpy's fenders are drilled and ready for install?  His site says his front fender attaches to the stock fork brace, but it looks like my fork brace is pretty permanently attached to the fender itself.  Also, is his bobbed rear fender drilled for a tail light?  his site say tho choose any light, I am guessing that means drilling is necessary.

Thanks.
