If it weren't for the gas tank, I'd say grab it fast for 850.00.  It's an early F, so doesn't have the valve problems.  There are F tanks on ebay all the time again, but expect to pay 150 or so for one.  I'd say try to get it for 500, or close as possible.

Thanks for your support Ladies and Gentleman, I sent him another email and said that I would give 650.00 for it and that 700.00 is as high as I can afford to go.

Patience is your best friend.  If you want to start with a bike in this condition you will find one for less money if you wait it out.

alright, I passed on this one, I got the money to buy it and realized that I should use that to finish getting my bike on the road first. So anyone in the kansas City metro have at it. I also tried to convince the guy to keep it since it was his uncles bike and that its been in his family since it was new, I told him that with the help of other sohc people that we could get it going if that sounded tempting to him. I also think he would thank himself later for that decision too. ;D Well now off to hunt for some rear brake parts for my sled, if anyone has a rear brake drum lever (mine is bent and the cable is snapped off at the end  :'( ) and rod they would trade for I got some clutch and brake levers I cut the ball ends off of and polished them up all shiny and such(they are for a 74 750), and I got some turn signal covers that are in good shape or fork clamps.  I will post more about this in the for sale section.
