Quick valve adjustment/loose rocker question
« on: October 12, 2008, 07:14:10 pm »
So I've been helping my buddy with his '74 550k, he's had a really loud engine ticking coming from the left side (#1 cylinder area) and my thought was to adjust the valves. Well, we're in the process of it right now, and are mostly done, but I'm wondering why his rocker arms have so much play. When I adjusted the valves on my '73 750 K3 there was no where near as much play side to side as on his. What causes the rockers to be so loose, should he be worried, and can it be adjusted? Thanks.

Might be the shafts worn in the rocker cover, several posts about thaty

Well, we finished and the bike sounds way better, so I suppose no worries for now.
