     Politics have been founded on lies since the late 1800's, it's no wonder things have gotten so ugly. We have got dead beat burn outs getting kids riled up about how opressed they are and that turns them into angry, havoc wreaking, savages.

    +1 to Skonnie. You look at the McCain camp, and I am not advocating either party here just making a point, and all this new crap they are pulling, completely lieing to the American people. Getting people excited at their rallys until some one yells out to kill Obama and McCain says nothing. That is ugly. Very ugly.

Maybe in the rest of Canada, but not around here. Most people I know just don't give f@#k. What ever bunch of criminals get elected, things still remain the same.

McCain did try to quell the comments.  Palin still seems to be inciting the crowds, but McCain seems to want to do the right thing.  And Obama/Biden seems to be sticking to the issues.  I am afraid that if(when) Obama wins, there will be worse things than cut brake lines tried against him.

Politicians can be very nice people. Then they get elected, have some kind of hidden hazing ritual, and become the scum sucking pus buckets (to quote Moe on the 'Simpsons') that we see in their public lives.

Once elected their only goal is to get re-elected, so that they can get fat by pigging out at the trough which is the political pension scheme.

I've yet to see a politician (municipal, provincial or federal) answer a conroversial question with a straight answer.

Its hard to pin market cycles on the sitting president, but their policies certainly can grease the skids for growth or, as is the case now, freefall.  I remember 1992-2000 as being a lot more pleasant than the last 8 years.  Things now are definitely not the same. 

I'm willing to spend a few hours 22 days from now to find out whether a new administration makes a difference.

I just wish it was all over I/m tired of having to skip over their stupid ads on tv every 2 minutes and driving past 6000 signs on the 2 mile trip to work.

I think the problem stems from 3 things. People always thinking they are right. Never wanting to admit when they are wrong. An over developed sense of competition. On the last one, just go to a little league game and see the moms get all militant.

It's election day (yawn) here in Canada. All you Canadians get out there and do your duty...... even if the result is pretty much a foregone conclusion.

I often wonder what would happen if there were some real upsets after the polls close, like the Prime Minister losing his seat.
