Vin numbers
« on: October 13, 2008, 07:48:22 AM »
I was thinking of picking up a 71 CB500...the price is fair... but I took a peek at the vins and the frame doesn't match the engine...  Do we have a problem here?

If they did match you would have a problem---never yet seen frame and engine the same unless there has been a dodgy re-stamp.

If you PM me the engine and frame nos i will look in my ID book and tell you when it should be also there should be a month/year on the vin plate on RH side of the headstock with those as well i can tell you if the numbers are in the correct sequence
