My 4th bike was a new K7 that I rode until 1983 and sold it to a friend.  He sold it back to me in 1999.  I rebuilt the carbs and added brand new Vetter hard bags and trunk.  Then bought a Wing in 2001 and sold the K7 with 18,000 miles on it.  Just last week the guy called and asked me if I wanted to buy it back.  If I did buy it back I would take the bags and Vetter fairing off and put it stock again.  Needs the OEM exhaust.  He is asking $1,500 for it.  I was thinking of buying it and then listing the Vetter fairing and hard bags on eBay.  That should bring the cost down a little and help pay for OEM exhaust.  Is the exhaust available again?  I know for a while there is was not.

Hi guys
all stripped out, and all the black bits have gone off to the powder coater, that will take 2 weeks, waiting for headlights ears from the states, if the chrome is good then the battery cover, and some small bits will go off to the chrome plant. I have decided , cause it's my bike to paint it in the new Volvo black Sapphire metallic, it looks like flat black till the sun shines then it has a very light gold sparkle, not the 1980 large flake, I know what your thinking "spending a small fortune restoring it then changing the spec" but that Excel black is to bland .I have also elected to fit the automatic chrome chain guard, I am having problems with the chrome trim round the seat ,mine has been damaged in the past by the previous owner, but I cannot find a good replacement, their is one alternative, a car trimmers over here have aluminium strip same radius with pins in the back, this is used for car hood trimming, when covered in vinyl it is nailed on vintage hoods to cover seams might work when highly polished.Still need to make my mind up as to the paint for the engine, any views please, the engine is running brilliant so it's only a paint up and polish the covers with that .Have a good weekend all and I will keep you all informed of progress's

Hi Guys,
all the black bits are back, same I never thought to mask the headstock (tripple tree ) where the forks slide through, I have to try and dig out the powder coating so the forks will slide through.Still no answer as to the type of paint for the engine or a seat trim, but plenty to do, got the headstock bearings in, front wheel rebuilt with s/steel spokes, battery box electronics fitted, centre stand fitted, but really need to get the engine painted and in before I go over the top with the frame
