I got a '77 550f from my friends dad for free about three years ago, but have only began to really work on it in the past 6 months. Now that the 550k is done, I'll focus more of my attention on this project.
My Plans for the project are as follows:
Color scheme:
Black,Red,Polished Aluminum, with subtle touches of gold
Frame: Gloss Black
Tank: Black, Red, and Gold
Forks: Black
Rims/Hubs: Black
Seat: Black leather w/ gold thread?
Engine: Silver/Black
Swingarm:
Aluminum from '83 GS1100
Shocks:
CB 900f
Rims:
Hopefully aluminum w/ stainless spokes
Seat:
one off fiberglass
Electrical:
Completely rewire, LED everything, HondaMan ignition, electronics under the seat hump
Engine:
Hone and new rings, port and polish, valve guides
Thats the game plan for now, I've been mulling over this thing in my head for a while and can see it pretty clearly, hopefully I will be able to translate the image into reality. I plan on doing the majority of the work my self, so its not going to be done anytime soon, but thats not important. It will be a very detail oriented build, I'll try to customize every aspect of this bike to the best of my abilities.
Here is a crappy cell pic of the cylinder block I've been working on; I filed down the rough edges on the fins, polished them, masked them, then painted it with gloss black engine enamel. I plan on doing the same to the cylinder head.
Thats all for now, thanks for looking
