I just picked up this bike for $150 today. As you can see the auction closed without bids, so I went about contacting the seller. I went out today to go get it. I was worried about the missing muffler and was pricing one online already before I left. When I arrived I found the muffler leaned against the bike....SWEET.
I stuck my foot into the kickstarter and found solid tight compression. To the point that it almost stopped me from finishing kicking it over. Tires looked like they had about 1/2 a season on them. Turn signals had the garbage can garage crash bend to them. Otherwise the bike was clean.
Once I got it home I fought with the stubborn petcock and got fuel flowing in reserve. Dumped a couple of gallons in it, topped of the oil and gave her a kick. She started right up with no fight. It was like 1/2 a kick. The lack of muffler sounded sick, but the fact that it was running was music to my ears. With it missing the throttle cable I reached down and reved it a few times and it sounded good. I stole the throttle cable from my parted out CB 650 and jammed the mess together. I know not right but it worked.
The first ride was wierd as in comparision to the trusty 750 this thing was a joke in the power department. I do like the fact that the "X" series was like a happy medium between street and trail. Plus the fact that it is light is a big bonus.
Anyway..............can anyone tell me some stuff about this thing?, other than it has guts like a moped.... No not really, it does have the right amount of power for the bike, I'm just used to much bigger. But I can't seem to find much info on these bikes.
Obtaining a title maybe my biggest fight. HA a "title" fight.
