Jet question / motor question
« on: April 12, 2005, 11:40:53 AM »
 Hey All, I'm rebuilding a 750 K0  carbs are Keihin  2 . 5  ????
main is 115, slow is 40, needle has 27201 ??
don't know what someone did to these before I got them, besides leave out some stuff I'm
having to find BUT,,  do these numbers sound right together ?
Also is there a way to tell if a motor has been beefed up without tearing it apart ?
 Thanks, Raymond in Texas

You could look down the intake ports and see if they have been workrd on. Alot of compression- 180 to 200lbs via a compression check- would indicate high compression pistons etc.

That's not Ray Radney is it? Hey Ray, no-one gives away K0's for free, your boy didn't just happen to bring that K0 back from Saddam's private stash in Iraq now did he? Ha ha, Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

You have all stock components in your carbs, with the exception of the mains. The bikes used 120, 110, and 105's. Does your bike have a 4-to-1 on it? I just rebuilt my '73 K3 carbs with gen-u-wine Honda parts and those numbers (for the jet needle) sound right.

G'Day Ray, don't worry about that boy of yours mate, he'll come around and get himself a real "Classic" like ours one day, I'm just glad he got back in one piece, and I hope he doesn't have to go back to "The land of Sand" again! Cheers, Terry. 8)
