side cover conundrum
« on: September 12, 2005, 12:44:35 PM »
hey folks. i know that this has been covered, and i apologize for repeating topics, but i was looking to get a DEFINITIVE answer for what year/model side covers are interchangeable. i have a '75 CB550F Super Sport (sunrise orange) with side covers that are cracked and broken and have been having one hell of a time finding new ones. i see them come and go on ebay and other parts resources, but hardly EVER see any that are specifically for my year/model. i do see a lot that are for other 550F's, but they look just different enough for me to pass on them every time.

if there is a topic that covers this on this forum already that i'm just not getting when i search, please post the link. thanks.

The 75 through 77 CB550F used the same side covers painted different colors.

Check Western Hills Honda and David Silver Spares for new ones. I ordered from one of the two for mine ('75 550F in Sunrise Flake Orange, just like yours). Paid $80, IIRC.

You got them BOTH for $80?  I paid $100 for the right-side from www.westernhillshonda.com - they likely still have some.  The color code is R2CF.

I picked up the left one on eBay 1 1/2 years ago for $30, and got the tank on eBay for $20  ;D, so the total cost of the set was pretty cheap.

You might contact this guy:

This auction ended without it being sold (I was the 2nd highest bidder).  Don't know what he's looking for, or if he still has it.
